Flying the flag for the Borders

Posted by Jenny On July - 15 - 2009

The “Our Scottish Borders” brand continues to positively promote the area both within the Borders and further afield.

Promotional material, banners and flags were displayed at this year’s Royal Highland Show at the end of June, and the flags were spotted last month in Harmony Garden at the Borders Book Festival, at the Cameron Gunn Memorial Football Festival at Netherdale, at the Border Bogie Challenge in Denholm, and up north at a Scottish Downhill Mountain Biking event.

A new heritage pop-up banner has been added to the collection with a fantastic image, taken by Rob Gray, of the 2009 Peebles Beltane Cornet and Cornet’s lass returning from Neidpath installation.

All branded equipment can be borrowed for events – just log on to www.ourscottishborders.com and click on “brand toolkit” or phone Jenny Williamson on 01835 824000.

Scottish Borders College campus

Posted by Jenny On July - 14 - 2009

The Scottish Borders Campus is the new home for both Borders College and Heriot-Watt University.

As a result of this ground breaking co-location project the new Campus will provide a centre for educational excellence within the Scottish Borders region and allow the College and the University to each benefit from a range of shared facilities while still retaining their own distinct identities.

This shared Campus will provide the perfect environment for students and staff, a strong focus for further and higher education within the Scottish Borders community, and will help promote the area as a centre for innovation and progress in education.
