A learning provider will support the young person throughout, ensuring that you both achieve what you want from the experience. Get Ready for Work is open to young people aged 16 to 19 who need a little help in preparing to enter the world of work. As well as complementing your corporate social responsibility policy, the Get Ready for Work programme can help you to reduce recruitment costs. The learning provider will discuss your needs closely with you before sourcing a suitable participant to step into the post you have in mind. Following the free trial period, you can then opt to employ the trainee permanently - avoiding the expense of advertising the vacancy or employing a recruitment agency.
The Training for Work programme offers you the chance to source new recruits who have improved their skills to meet your industry's specific needs. Cut your recruitment costs and gain highly motivated employees who will arrive on day one with up-to-date, relevant skills already in place. The Training for Work initiative provides vocational skills training to anyone over the age of 18 who has been continuously unemployed for 13 weeks (there are exceptions to this - some can enter the programme immediately) and who needs to improve their skills to find work. Jobcentre Plus Vacancy Service
Whether you have a small number of positions to fill or hundreds, advertising your vacancies with Jobcentre Plus Vacancy Service will enable you to:
- get help from your recruitment adviser, who is responsible for managing the recruitment process until your vacancy is filled and can advise you on the local job
- market, training, equal opportunities and specialist types of employment;
- try out employees risk-free by offering work trials to potential employees, providing an on-the-job trial period for up to 30 days;
- benefit from specialist support for recruiting and retaining the skills of disabled workers, such as Access to Work and the Job Introduction Scheme;
- get help with sorting through application forms and selecting candidates for interview ;
- use Jobcentre Plus offices to conduct your interviews.
