Scottish Borders Council is pleased to announce the Business Excellence Awards for 2010-11.

Economic conditions are creating a real challenge for business owners nationally.  Despite this, many local companies continue to demonstrate excellence and are succeeding in difficult times.  These Awards will celebrate Borders companies that show vision and commitment in their chosen fields. 

To enter the Awards, click on the category title to open an application form.   Applications  may be submitted by email or, if handwritten, by post to the address on the form.

This year’s Business Excellence Awards will recognise the achievement of businesses across seven categories:

• New Business of the year- Sponsored by Business Gateway

• International Trader of the year- Sponsored by Scottish Chambers International

• Employer of the year- in association with the Federation of Small Businesses

• Growth Business of the year- sponsored by Purves CA, Melrose

• Independent Retailer of the year- in association with the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce

• Innovation of the year- sponsored by ProStrakan 

• Creative Marketing award- sponsored by the South of Scotland Creative Clusters project

The closing date for applications is Friday 04 February 2011 and winners will be announced at a business lunch event on Friday 18 March 2011 at the Scottish Borders Campus, Galashiels.

SBC is taking the lead role in co-ordinating the Awards but is delighted that partners from the private and the public sector have agreed to support them. The Southern Reporter has joined the Awards as media sponsor.
